The Gulf Pharmaceutical
Industries (Julphar), the major
medicines manufacturer in the
country, reiterated yesterday
its commitment to the pricing
system that has been enforced by
the Ministry of Health (MoH).
The RAK-based industry ensured
the public that it would put
into effect all the policies of
the MoH that have been aimed at
reducing medicines prices.
Many people, expatriate as well
as locals, have voiced serious
concerns that the local
medicines industries and
supplier are defying the
ministry's policy that was aimed
at reducing medications prices
in the country.
The MoH had earlier issued a
decision stipulating that the
profit margin on medicines
should be reduced from 70 to 55
per cent.
